North Side ~ Local Shopping
Hanalei
Kauai’s largest valley is a lovely place for shopping as you will find the little town nestled on the valley floor. After crossing the one way bridge, driving along Hanalei Heritage River and fields of glistening green taro patches, you will soon be in the heart of the town. Here you can park your car and take off on foot.
Kapaa is a community whose roots took hold almost two centuries ago. Today it offers a variety of shops which meet that sweet spot between old and new. You will find shopping around in this charming little town a wistful experience as does Forbes Magazine who voted Kapaa top 15 prettiest towns in America.
On the sunny south shore of Kauai, Poipu is renowned Kauai’s resort playground. Here you will find The Shops at Kukui‘ula shopping center featuring our islands premier shops. The architecture pays homage to Hawaii’s planation past and the center is home to dozens of unique shops, boutiques restaurants and art galleries.
Dubbed Kauai’s biggest little town. With many of the buildings intact from the late 1950’s, driving through historic Hanapepe feels like a trip back in time. The slow paced life here will give you a taste of old Hawaii. Don’t miss the art walk which is located just off the main road on the mountain side of the street.
